2 Companies Are Modernizing “Ruslan” Aircraft

The services were purchased according to the reporting procedure, as the contractors are technical monopolists

Antonov, a member of the Ukroboronprom concern, has ordered the modernization of engines for An-124 Ruslan aircraft for $14 million.

The repairs will be carried out by Motor Sich and Zaporizhzhya machine-building design bureau Progress named after academician Ivchenko.

Motor Sich JSC will be responsible for the overhaul and modernization of three D-18T Series 3 aircraft turbojet engines. The repairs will cost $8.400.000 each. In turn, Progress will upgrade two engines for $5.600.000.

The aircraft company plans to supply the engines to Ivchenko-Progress in August and September of this year (along with a prepayment of 50%), and take them away in a year (after paying the second half of the payment).

Announced warranty time  — 100 hours or 22 flight cycles. The warranty period is 7 years, and the service life  — 21 years from the date of acceptance of the test engine after repair.
