The third Ukrainian Dutch agrarian dialogue (UANLAD) took place in Breda, the Netherlands. It brought together agricultural associations and officials to discuss Ukraine’s integration into the EU market.
Participants focused on the current state of Ukrainian agriculture amid the war, adaptation to EU standards in crop and livestock production, and practical challenges of entering the EU internal market in the context of future membership.
The dialogue emphasized a common position of Ukrainian agrarian associations on European integration, the impact on European and Dutch agrifood sectors, and the role of Ukraine in strengthening the EU’s strategic autonomy in key food products.
Among the agreed points: integration can have a positive long term effect on EU food security; Ukrainian and Dutch production can be complementary and create synergy; and open but managed trade remains critical while the war continues.
Participants included representatives of the Ukrainian government and the Netherlands, leaders of agrarian associations, and diplomats from both countries. The dialogue was supported by relevant ministries of economy, environment and agriculture.
