Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksandr Serhiy, met with Christian Freuding, the head of the Department of Planning and Management of the German Ministry of Defense, during his visit to Kyiv. The meeting focused on the supply and repair of weapons and military equipment and explored further cooperation prospects for the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation presented Germany with the urgent needs of the Defense Forces, while discussions also covered potential new agreements for the supply of additional weapons and military equipment.
Freuding, who had visited several regions of Ukraine, including frontline areas, expressed readiness to continue and expand cooperation. This meeting reflects the ongoing and deepening military support from Germany, as both nations work together to address the challenges posed by the conflict.
In related developments, Markus Faber, head of the Bundestag's defense committee, suggested that the situation in Russia's Kursk region justifies discussions about increasing the number of Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine. Germany's Foreign Ministry has reiterated Ukraine's right to self-defense, including actions beyond its borders.
