Ukrainian Business Develops Despite the War

Ukrainian entrepreneurs set a record for registration of new businesses in Ukraine, which exceeds pre-war indicators

Over the past year, almost 41.000 new companies appeared in Ukraine, 318.000 individuals opened their businesses. Note that the registration of an individual entrepreneur in Ukraine is the easiest method to start your own business. The highest rate of opening own cases was recorded in:

  • Kyiv – 12.992;
  • Lviv region – 12.353;
  • Dnipro region – 8.632;

Areas of activity of companies are not limited: textiles, clothes and shoes, Internet training, agriculture, beauty, winemaking, etc. Thus, as of September 2023, 2.052.326 companies worked in Ukraine during the war. Such indicators are much higher than those recorded before the war.

Before the Russian invasion, 18.000 medium-sized companies and more than 350.000 small businesses worked in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, 290.910 businessmen have stopped their work. Data says that from February 2022 to September 2023, at least 17.000 businesses every month. The most active business closures were recorded in regions where there are Russian invaders and in front-line zones.
