Ukraine and Lithuania to Jointly Produce Drones and Electronic Warfare Equipment

During President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s official visit to Lithuania, Ukraine and Lithuania have agreed to collaborate on the joint production of drones and electronic warfare (EW) equipment

This development was announced in a statement by the Office of the President, as reported by the Ukrainian News Agency.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ukraine's Ministry of Strategic Industry and the Lithuanian Defense and Security Industry Association. The memorandum is aimed at fostering and developing defense and security cooperation. It includes support for joint defense technology projects, specifically focusing on the development and production of unmanned aerial and ground platforms, electronic warfare equipment, demining tools, and other advanced defense technologies.

Furthermore, the agreement encompasses joint efforts in developing products to enhance situational awareness and technological superiority in conventional weaponry, such as armored vehicles and artillery systems. It also involves collaboration between Lithuanian and Ukrainian defense industrial companies and scientific institutions for creating new products, particularly in cybersecurity and communications.

Additionally, Letters of Intent were signed between JSC "Ukrainian Defense Industry" and four foreign companies - RSI Europe, Brolis Semiconductors, DMEXS, and NT Service. These companies specialize in the development and production of innovative military technologies, including modern EW devices, remote detonation systems, small arms optics, and surveillance systems.

President Zelenskyi's visit to Vilnius on January 10 was aimed at coordinating further European support and cooperation in EW and drone technology. In December, Lithuania also provided Ukraine with a new military aid package, including thousands of rounds of ammunition for portable anti-tank grenade launchers and millions of rounds of ammunition.
