Ukraine and UAE Expand Cooperation

On 5 December, countries started negotiations on the Comprehensive economic partnership agreements

On December 5, negotiations between Ukraine and the Arab Emirates began in Dubai. Representatives of the governments start working on a document allowing 2 countries to cooperate in the economic sphere actively. The agreement will impact trade, economic, and investment relations between the UAE and Ukraine. Due to the agreement, it is planned to expand the range of Ukrainian goods exported to the UAE. Emirates is one of the most successful export centres in the Middle East. So Ukraine notes that the UAE is a vital partner.

"Our priority is the markets of Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In cooperation with other agencies, the foreign Ministry opens new horizons for Ukrainian goods, develops trade, and protects Ukrainian business abroad. The agreement with the UAE, the negotiations that have started today, will open new prospects for our economy and Ukrainian business in the region of Zatoka (Odesa region — ed.). This is especially important in the conditions of war and the need to strengthen the economic stability of Ukraine," said the minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the UAE, Dmytro Senyk, said this will be a special partnership in which Ukraine will become a guarantor of food security. The document will also include the development of trends in introducing new technologies and digitalization.

The work on strengthening cooperation began in October after the talks between the 2 presidents. Currently, the first vice prime minister, minister of the economy of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko and state minister for foreign trade of the UAE, Sani bin Ahmed Al-Zayudi have signed a joint agreement to start negotiations.

We remind you that Ukraine and UAE celebrated the 30th anniversary of partnership this year.
