Ukraine Doesn’t Negotiate With Terrorists

The representative of the office of the president of Ukraine explained why negotiations with Russia were put on hold

On May 17, an adviser to the presidential office and a member of the negotiating delegation from Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, clarified the nature of the negotiations with Russia. This is not about "withdrawal or not exit" from the negotiation process of the Ukrainian delegation: it is only about expediency and specifics at this stage. There will be specifics — political negotiations will be continued", Mykhailo Podolyak.

3 primary reasons for the non-continuation of the dialogue, according to Podolyak.

  1. "The negotiation process is really on pause. Why? There are several reasons. Russia does not demonstrate a key understanding of today's processes in the world. And its extremely negative role."

Proof of this is the recent statement by Dmitry Medvedev that he splits on the opinion of the G7 regarding Russian violations of the borders of independent Ukraine: "Let's put it mildly: our country splits on the non-recognition of the new borders (Ukraine) by the G7, the true will of the people living there is important. Do not forget the Kosovo precedent, Western friends", Dmitry Medvedev.

2. "Secondly, Russia does not understand that in any sense the war is no longer going according to the rules, schedule or plans of Russia. The resistance of Ukraine and professional resistance is only growing. Therefore, no goals of the Russian Federation will be achieved."

In direct proportion to the success of the Ukrainian army in confronting the Russian horde, Ukraine's position in the negotiations is also becoming tougher. The war will not end until Ukraine takes back what is its own: "We want everything that belongs to us to be ours," Dmytro Kuleba, MFA of Ukraine.

3. "Russia can't give up propaganda forcing on the domestic market, and therefore the political elite is afraid, to tell the truth. In particular, the fact that now it is necessary to leave the war on "completely different conditions than what was announced at the beginning."

Based on this, Russia will use the war in Ukraine as a method of demonstrating its wretchedness and as a tool for false propaganda aimed at the domestic consumer — the Russians.

Another important factor is the sick ambitions of the Kremlin, its imperial maximalism, which is not adequate to reality. Like a notorious child, Russia is eager to take the full blow of economic sanctions to its own detriment, to discover the real "combat capability" of its horde, and, of course, to destroy the scraps of its reputation.

"This, in my opinion, is the strategic goal of the Russians: all or nothing. Therefore, there is no point in preventing the fall of this eccentric "empire," Podolyak.
