Boosting Bilateral Trade
“One of the key objectives of my trip to Egypt, as part of a Ukrainian delegation led by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaly Koval, is to increase trade turnover between our two countries,”
— Serhiy Tkachuk, SSUFSCP
Ukraine already serves as a major grain supplier to Egypt. In 2024, the country exported:
- 3.332 million tons of corn
- 2.875 million tons of wheat
- 745 thousand tons of soybeans
- 16.1 thousand tons of barley
Potential Import Expansion
During negotiations in Egypt, officials also discussed:
- Fish and Fish Products: Prospects for Egyptian fish imports into Ukraine.
- Fruits and Vegetables: Expansion of the range of Egyptian produce entering Ukrainian markets—building on Egypt’s already strong presence, as it accounts for 25% of oranges sold in Ukraine.
“This expansion will give Ukrainian consumers more choices,”
— Serhiy Tkachuk, SSUFSCP
By broadening the scope of goods traded—especially in agricultural and food sectors—Ukraine and Egypt aim to strengthen bilateral trade, ensuring a more diverse selection of products for consumers in both countries.
