Ukraine Harvests 90% of 2024 Crops, Achieving Record Soybean Yield

Ukraine’s 2024 harvest is nearing completion, with 90% of all agricultural crops already collected

The country has achieved a historic soybean yield of 6 million tons, marking a significant milestone in its agricultural sector.

Harvest Progress and Key Statistics

Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, announced during a briefing that several crops have been fully harvested:

  • Fully Harvested Crops:
    • Wheat
    • Barley
    • Rye
    • Oats
    • Legumes
    • Rapeseed
  • Partially Harvested Crops:
    • Corn: 67% harvested
    • Sunflowers and Soybeans: 95% harvested

"On average, 90% of the crop is harvested; it's evident that we can summarize the results," Vysotskyi stated.

Crop Yields and Comparisons

According to Vysotskyi, the wheat harvest remained consistent with the previous year, totaling more than 22 million tons. Other notable yields include:

  • Barley and Rapeseed: Approximately 6 million tons
  • Soybeans: A record 6 million tons, the highest in Ukraine's history
  • Sunflowers: 10 million tons harvested
  • Corn: An expected yield of 24 million tons

"These are good numbers, but there is still a decrease compared to the previous year," the deputy minister added.

Increase in Agricultural Exports

Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine's export of agricultural products has increased by more than 25%. The primary reason for this rise is the restoration of sea transportation, which accounts for 89% of exports.
