Ukraine Implements NATO Standards

Vineta Kleine, Head of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, noted Ukraine's achievements towards joining the Alliance

In an interview with Radio Svoboda, Vineta Kleine expressed her views on Ukraine's achievements and obstacles to NATO membership.

"Work on this is quite active and dynamic. And Ukraine is doing everything to follow NATO standards and principles and implement them here," Kleine said.

The question was whether Ukraine was ready to join the Alliance, to which Vineta Kleine diplomatically replied: "Ukraine is on the way to full implementation of NATO standards. This is a deep process of Euro-Atlantic integration. The process that every country goes through. Let me remind you that I am from Latvia. I worked in the Ministry of Defense when my country overcame the path that Ukraine (overcomes) today. It's a long journey, and a lot of work on a common road map and common values."

According to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, general Valerii Zaluzhnyy, "Ukraine implements NATO standards and is ready to join, but the decision is based on the alliance."

In an interview with Radio Svoboda, Zaluzhnyy said that Ukraine has already implemented 300 NATO standards for the management, planning and training sectors.
