On April 22, president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, addressed the World Bank council, in which he spoke about the damage that Russia has inflicted on Ukraine, about the needs of our country. Separately, the president called the consequences of the war, which almost every person on the planet will feel.
A month earlier, the International Monetary Fund, at the request of Ukraine's partner countries, created a special account to meet the needs of Ukraine. On April 26, the prime minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced the amount Ukraine will receive through the IMF every month and its purposes.
"We are constantly cooperating with the IMF. We have agreed, and the IMF has created a special administrative account through which our partners will provide us with support. We are voicing the figure, which is also confirmed by the IMF — $5 billion a month," Denys Shmyhal.
The funds will be sent to the restoration of Ukraine and the provision of social and humanitarian services to Ukrainians.
