Ukraine Received €2 Bln From the EU

On October 18, Ukraine received a macro-tranche to cover state emergency needs

Today, Ukraine has received a €2 billion macro-packet from the EU. Funds will be transferred to cover urgent public needs, particularly in the social and humanitarian sectors. This act of support for the economic stability of Ukraine is the most important at a time when the energy infrastructure of Ukraine is destroyed daily.

"Ukraine received the next tranche of macro-fin aid from the EU €2 billion. Grateful to the EU & president Ursula von der Leyen for support. We count on ASAP implementation of the full program — €9 billion. This is a crucial contribution to Ukrainian financial stability & our victory. Embrace Ukraine" Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, these funds are part of the €5 billion Europaket. Recall that the €9 billion program from the European Union was developed in May but then was blocked by Germany. At the end of June, the decision to grant Ukraine macro-tranche was finally made.
