On September 13, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down the first drone that Iran handed over to Russia. According to experts, most likely, it was the Shahed-136 drone. It is noteworthy that Russia has marked Iranian drones in cyrillic — M214 Geran-2.
After that, the use of Shahed-136 drones increased: 4 of them were destroyed in the Mykolaiv region. As of September 23, the number of Iranian attack drones shot down by the Ukrainian army reached 7.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy called Iran's activity "collaboration with evil." In response to Tehran's complicity in Russian aggression, Ukraine revoked the accreditation of the Iranian ambassador to Ukraine and reduced the number of staff at the embassy in Kyiv. Iranian MFA spokesman Nasser Kanaani expressed regret over Ukraine's decision. According to Kanaani, Ukraine should "refrain from the influence of third parties seeking to destroy relations between the two countries."
"The decision is based on unconfirmed reports and was the result of media noise from foreign parties," the diplomat said.
