Lithuanian defense minister Arvydas Anushauskas announced on Twitter that the "national" Bayraktar for Ukraine will soon go to war. Earlier, the residents of Lithuania began to raise money for 1 operational and one tactical unmanned aerial drone of medium-altitude of Turkish production. Lithuanian TV host Andrius Tapinas initiated it. He has launched a €5 million raise for the purchase of a drone for Ukraine. The fund-raising was closed in less than 2 days. In response to the Lithuanian initiative, the Baykar company decided to donate Bayraktars to Lithuania and to help Ukraine with the proceeds. Now it is expected that in July, Bayraktar will be presented at the base of the Lithuanian air force and then will be handed over to Ukrainian fighters.
"The Bayraktar Vanagas is already in Lithuania. The combat drone is armed and will be handed over to Ukrainian fighters as soon as possible. The people of Lithuania have raised funds to buy a Bayraktar TB2 for Ukraine. Upon learning this, Baykar donated it free of charge," Arvydas Anushauskas wrote.
We note that shortly 3 more Turkish drones will be transferred to Ukraine from the country of the manufacturer itself. Baykar decided to donate 3 drones to the Ukrainian army because of the unity of the Ukrainian people. Ukrainians have managed to close the collection of money on 4 unmanned aerial vehicles in 3 days.
