Ukraine currently maintains a stable situation with gas supplies even under conditions of massive Russian strikes on the energy sector. This was stated by Natalia Boyko, member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, during a special session of the Kyiv Security Forum dedicated to the energy situation in the country.
According to her, the gas sector today looks better than many expected in wartime conditions. She emphasized that this stability is the result of coordinated work between Naftogaz, the government and international partners, who ensure both the restoration of damaged equipment and the availability of imported resources.
Boyko noted that after each attack, priority is given to fast repairs of infrastructure so that gas transmission and storage facilities continue to operate without interruptions. At the same time, Ukraine is diversifying supply sources in order not to depend on a single route or supplier.
A separate element of this strategy is cooperation with Poland. Naftogaz of Ukraine and Polish company Orlen signed an agreement to supply at least 300 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas from the United States. This agreement closes short-term needs but is also designed as a step toward longer-term cooperation, diversification of delivery routes through European partners, and strengthening of energy security for both Ukraine and Europe.
Thus, even under ongoing attacks, Ukraine is building a model where domestic production, rapid repair, and imported LNG complement each other and allow the gas system to remain stable.
