Announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation, the proposal is part of draft law No. 9256, currently pending parliamentary approval. Fedorov urges lawmakers to back this anti-corruption measure, which seeks to eliminate human intervention in the licensing process, ensuring automation and clear criteria. Committee chairman Danylo Hetmantsev highlighted the initiative's goal to refine state regulation within the gambling and lottery markets and to establish a fair, transparent licensing procedure. The move responds to the absence of an online monitoring system, recurrent controversies, and insufficient industry oversight, underscoring the necessity to rectify these shortcomings. The CRGL was initially tasked with monitoring advertising compliance within the gambling sector. Despite efforts, including educational resources on responsible gambling, the industry has faced challenges, contributing significantly to the country's acquiring sector.
