On July 18, Russia fired Kh-22 and Onyx missiles at Odesa and Mykolaiv. As a result of the terrorist attack, museums and cultural attractions in the following cities were damaged:
- 2 Odesa museums were damaged: literary and archaeological;
- The Mykolaiv regional centre of folk art and cultural and educational work was destroyed. The building of this museum was a monument of Ukrainian architecture;
- Damaged World heritage site — the historical centre of Odesa.
The minister of culture of Ukraine and his team prepared an appeal to UNESCO and began work on the conservation of damaged cultural objects.
