Ukrainian Recovery Goes On: Rebuilding War-Destroyed Bridges

Ukraine will receive 36 easily assembled bridges from "Matiere", France

On July 13, the minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced an agreement with the French industrialists MEDEF on the transfer of 36 units of easily assembled bridges. The structures will be installed on the site of bridges that were destroyed during the hostilities.

"Together with the French government and the Federation of French industrialists MEDEF, we have agreed to transfer to Ukraine 36 easily assembled bridges from 23 to 46 m long from the Matiere company. These structures can quickly replace the destroyed Ukrainian bridges, and then replace them on a permanent basis", Dmytro Kuleba.

Probably, the Matiere company will introduce its experience not only in bridges, but will also help Ukraine with the restoration of elevated crossings over the railway tracks and highways.

"Already on July 25, the company's engineers will arrive in Ukraine and conduct a joint assessment mission with the engineers of Ukravtodor. Potentially, the company is considering the possibility of deploying the production of these bridge crossings in Ukraine," Kuleba said.

On June 10, the Czech Republic also handed over to Ukraine 10 pontoon bridges, which Ukraine used to communicate with de-occupied settlements.
