On 7 November, the first launch of the middle-class Antares rocket took place in 2022. Before that, the rocket of this class went up in the sky 16 times, 15 of them successfully. Such progress in missile development has been achieved thanks to Ukrainian specialists.
The American aerospace department noted that Ukrainian specialists participated in Antares' preparation, testing, and launch. Ukrainian enterprises carried out a set of works on designing, developing, and manufacturing the material part of the first stage basic structure for a launch vehicle. Antares consists of 2 parts.
The main structure of the first stage was designed in the design office South in Dnipro, Ukraine. The state enterprise Yuzhmash and 3 other Ukrainian organizations (from Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia) implemented the project. The rocket's first stage was developed in Ukraine by the American corporation Northrop Grumman.
"Enterprises have fully ensured the execution of all operations in their sector of responsibility," said the Ministry of strategic industries of Ukraine.
Note that this Ministry was created in Ukraine just 2 years ago. Getting orders and participating in such missile projects is the first result of the Ministry's work.
