On October 12, the government of Ukraine adopted a resolution on transferring students of certain categories to a budget form of education. The resolution was developed at the initiative of Zelenskyy and reflects the state's attitude towards our children and IDPs. Which categories of students will the state pay for tuition in higher educational institutions:
- Students located in the territory of hostilities, occupation and blockade
- Internally displaced Ukrainians who fled the above territories
- Children of the Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The resolution also prescribes a mechanism for transitioning from a paid (contract) form of education to a budget one.
"These are our youth, and they need support from the state!" Vice prime minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk.
We remind you that earlier, Ukraine paid for the education of 13.000 students from temporarily occupied territories to continue their education. At the end of August, on the eve of the new academic year, an action called Diplomas that will never be issued was held in Lviv. Hundreds of higher education diplomas were hung in the city centre, which will never be obtained and used in professional activities because their holders died because of the Russian war.
