“Ukrzaliznytsia” Registered an Enterprise in Poland

The decision of the Ukrainian railway operator is aimed at the development of international freight traffic

On June 30, Ukrzaliznytsia registered a subsidiary Ukrainian Railways Cargo Poland. The new rail operator will connect commercial rail lines between Ukraine and Poland and onward to the rest of Europe. In the first months of operation, the new logistics company will be engaged in international freight transportation, taking responsibility for the transition of 1435 and 1520 gauge trains.

After the loss of the Donetsk railway lines and the blockade of the Black sea ports, Ukrzaliznytsia took over the shares of these logistics hubs. Now Ukrzaliznytsia will be able to develop freight turnover not only in Ukraine but also abroad, which will positively affect the economic situation in our country.

Today, the board of Ukrainian Railways Cargo Poland is finalising a long-term development plan and possible additional services (for example, door-to-door delivery).

Last year, the cargo turnover of Ukrzaliznytsia amounted to 12.4 million tons, which is 32% of the previous year's figure.
