On June 21, the US foreign minister announced an aid package for Ukraine on the Ukraine Recovery platform. Funds will be directed to several areas:
- ≈ $520+ million — energy infrastructure rehabilitation;
- $657 million — upgrade of border checkpoints, railroad tracks and critical systems.
The purpose of these investments is the renewal of Ukraine, a positive and sustainable reconstruction to attract foreign investment and prepare the energy system for integration into the European Union. The total amount of this package is $1.3 billion.
In addition, the US will help Ukraine fight corruption ($100 million) and support the private sector ($35 million).
