On October 27, the Australian Ministry of defence announced an increase in aid to Ukraine. Specifically, 30 armoured personnel carriers Bushmaster were sent to Ukraine to fight an aggressive and unprovoked war. The total number of Bushmasters received by Ukraine is now 90. The Ministry has also formed a group of 70 military instructors who will join the Interflex training mission in Great Britain. In this way, the technical and tactical capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be strengthened.
Australia's minister for defence Richard Marles said military assistance is central to Australia's support.
"Our soldiers will participate in a major training program in the United Kingdom to help prepare their Ukrainian comrades to fight Russia's unwarranted and illegal aggression," Australian defence minister Richard Marles.
Minister Marles added that military aid to Ukraine is the main point of Australian support for our country. It is known that Bushmaster's previous and current deliveries were carried out at the personal request of Zelenskyy, minister of defence Reznikov and the ambassador of Ukraine to Australia.
"Our soldiers will be part of a large training program in the United Kingdom to help prepare their Ukrainian mates for their struggle against Russia's unwarranted and unlawful aggression," said Marles.
Australia has provided Ukraine about $655 million in support, including $475 million in military assistance.
Prime minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, confirmed that his country will continue to support Ukraine in its struggle for its people, territories, sovereignty and independence.
"Australia has been unequivocal in its bipartisan support for Ukraine and its condemnation of President Putin," Anthony Albanese.
"This is not just about Ukraine's sovereignty; the brave people of Ukraine are defending international law, rules and norms."
