On January 28, Zelenskyy informed that he had appealed to international sports organizations concerning the decision of the International Olympic committee. The head of state believes that Russian athletes at the Olympics 2024 can begin to justify the Kremlin's powers and sooner or later will still use the symbols of Russia.
"Today I have continued our fair marathon, which is to bring international sports structures back to the true Olympic principle. Addressed the presidents of the leading international sports federations with a letter. The call is simple and fair: to decide on the decision of the International Olympic Committee, which unfortunately wants to open sport for propaganda influence of the terrorist state," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Note that earlier the Olympic committee decided to allow Russian athletes to the most prestigious competition in the world. It is noted that representatives of the Russian Federation will come under a neutral flag. However, the Ukrainian people and the government are against such a step. Ukraine believes that a terrorist country should be excluded from all events of global and European significance. It is also reported that Ukrainian athletes will refuse to participate in the Olympic games if Russian representatives are not excluded.
