Zelensky Receives Churchill Award From the UK

On July 26, Boris Johnson awarded Volodymyr Zelensky the Winston Churchill Leadership Award

Today, the president of Ukraine received an award from the prime minister of Great Britain for his courage in the face. Boris Johnson compared Zelenskyy 2022 to Churchill 1940: both of them did not leave their people and country, but remained to fight for freedom.

"As an honor to present my friend president Volodymyr Zelenskyy Lansky with the Winston Churchill leadership award today. When Putin launched his barbaric invasion, Volodymyr chose to stay in Kyiv among the Ukrainian people, undaunted and unafraid, just as Churchill stayed in London in 1940. And it is those Churchillian qualities of courage, defiance and dignity, that have moved the hearts of millions and stirred a global wave of solidarity. I know that Ukraine will win," Boris Johnson.

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Boris Johnson for the recognition and said that this award belongs to all the courageous Ukrainian people.

"The Winston Churchill Leadership Award is an award for all Ukrainians. Each and everyone who fights for our state," president Zelenskyy.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was not at the award ceremony, as the president does not leave Kyiv. Instead, at the ceremony, there was a team from Ukraine, including a paramedic Tayra, who was recently released from Russian captivity.
