On February 8, 2022, a meeting was held between the president of Ukraine and the president of France. Emmanuel Macron made a business visit. A large press conference was held in Kyiv.
The meeting between the two heads of state was positive. In addition to approving the €1.2 billion tranches, significant infrastructure projects were also discussed.
As a result of the meeting, it became known that the French side was ready to actively improve the economic situation of Ukrainian citizens and restore infrastructure. Together, states plan to address the issue of water. France will help to implement a clean-up project for drinking water. During the project, the enterprise in Mariupol will be reconstructed. The modernization of one of the Ukrainian water channels is also planned. After implementation of the plan, about 1.5 million Ukrainians will receive quality water.
Following this meeting, a project to obtain modern locomotives and rescue fire-fighting equipment is also underway. Cost of the upgrade — €1.2 billion.
Special boats for the border guard of Ukraine will also be designed and built within the framework of the treaty. The last point of international modernization of infrastructure in Ukraine is the development of the industrial-defense sphere and cooperation with air carriers AirBus. It is planned that the air carrier will help France and Ukraine to create a new airline company.
