President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has unveiled the agenda for Ukraine’s involvement in the G7 summit, which includes leaders from Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, France

"Today marks the beginning of the G7 summit in Italy, where our key partners will convene. A significant portion of the discussions will focus on Ukraine, specifically our defense and economic stability. We anticipate important decisions to be made today," Zelenskyy shared on Telegram.

Key Topics for Ukraine

Zelenskyy highlighted that the primary issues for Ukraine at the summit include:

  • Development of a Fighter Jet Coalition: Efforts to optimize pilot training and accelerate the delivery of aircraft.
  • Enhancement of Air Defense Systems: Building on the most advanced Western complexes and expanding long-range capabilities.
  • Utilization of Russian Assets: Approving the use of Russian assets to benefit Ukraine, particularly for bolstering the defense industry and joint weapon production.

Bilateral Meetings

The Ukrainian president noted that he will participate in the G7 meeting and conduct several bilateral meetings. These include:

  • Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy and summit host.
  • Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
  • Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
  • Charles Michel, President of the European Council.
  • Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"During meetings with US President Joseph Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, we will sign bilateral security agreements. The agreement with the United States will be unprecedented, reflecting their leadership in supporting Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.

G7's Commitment to Ukraine

Zelenskyy recalled that at last year’s NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 adopted a Declaration of Support for Ukraine. "Today, as part of this Declaration, we are finalizing the last two security agreements with G7 members. The Ukrainian people and our soldiers see that the G7 stands firmly with Ukraine. I am grateful to our partners for their belief in us and our victory," he concluded.
