£2.5 Mln to Investigate War Crimes Russian Soldiers Against Ukrainians

Great Britain will transfer funds to the General prosecutor's office of Ukraine to continue the investigation of crimes, in particular, sexual violence

On May 25, the United Kingdom, the EU, and the United States established the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group. As part of the ACA, the UK will give £2.5 million to the office of General prosecutor's office to continue the investigation into sexual crimes committed by Russians against Ukrainians during the war.

"The evidence of the terrible crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine and the first-hand accounts I heard from survivors will stay with me forever. But even stronger is the determination of the Ukrainian people to respond to these atrocities that I observed. I am glad that the expertise and funding of Great Britain will help the General prosecutor's office to expose these crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice," Melinda Simmons, ambassador of Great Britain to Ukraine.

We remind you that Great Britain also sent a group of experts to Ukraine to help the GPO of Ukraine collect evidence of sexual crimes against Ukrainians and bring the perpetrators to justice.
