The country's recovery program during and after the war includes rebuilding civilian infrastructure, reconstructing schools, and even exhuming and reburying bodies. And an essential task is to create a space where people can live. That is, demining the territory. The United24 presidential program has a separate section for this area, and as of today, more than 30 companies have already announced their participation in the process. Considering the current situation with mines on the territory of Ukraine, without predicting future damage, competent mine clearance will cost Ukraine hundreds of billions of dollars.
According to the head of the public protection department of the State emergency service Viktor Vitovetskyy, 28 companies have already received recommendations to join the state program.
As of April, Ukraine was one of the most mined countries in the world and the most mined country in Europe. To remedy this situation, HALO Trust USA is sending Boston Dynamics dog robots to Ukraine for demining of the Kyiv region. Currently, this region is home to the highest number of internally displaced persons from the east of Ukraine.
