Jens Stoltenberg delivered a briefing following the NATO defence ministers' meeting. He said that Ukraine's civil infrastructure and people need "closure of the sky". The secretary-general of the alliance said that Spain would help resolve the issue.
"Allies in NATO provide Ukraine with advanced systems, including artillery, air defence, and armoured vehicles. And I welcome today’s announcement by Spain to provide 4 Hawk launchers to strengthen Ukraine's air defences — in addition to what the allies have provided in recent days. Thanks to the allies for their significant contribution, and I call for further strengthening of support," said Stoltenberg.
On 14 October, the Ukrainian defence minister Oleksii Reznikov announced that the transfer of defence systems, announced after Ramstein 6, had already taken place. 4 air defence systems arrived in Ukraine. They will be used to fight the Russian drones and protect against the attacks of the Russian army on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. Ukrainian DM thanked Spanish defence minister Margarita Robles.
We note that the Spanish politician also proposed organising a training program for the Ukrainian military and announced the possibility of providing another assistance package.
