Over 1.000 Tortured Ukrainians Exhumed in Newly Deoccupied Territories

The settlements liberated from the Russian presence are littered with the bodies of murdered children, women, men, animals and livestock

Ukraine began to liberate the Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions from occupation. Forensic experts find torture chambers and spontaneous burials of the bodies of murdered Ukrainians in every settlement. Over the past almost 2 months, the Ukrainian side exhumed more than 1.000 Ukrainians buried in the ground.

The commissioner's office for missing persons reports that both military and civilians are buried in improvised graves. All with signs of torture, death is believed to be from shrapnel wounds or shots to the back of the head. In particular, almost 450 people have already been rescued from the ground in Izyum.

Among the dead are many children. The exact cause of death will be available after an autopsy. Many people are involved in the exhumation process: search teams, law enforcement agencies, and pyrotechnics.

"This is perhaps the most difficult segment of our search activity. Thank you all for your courage and endurance!" Oleh Kotenko, the missing person's commissioner.

Today, the hotline of the office for missing persons works in Ukraine. We remind you that after the de-occupation of Bucha, Ukraine opened a hotline for rape victims.
