The visit of president Katerina Sakellaropoulou was planned for several long months but was postponed due to security reasons. German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier came earlier under the same conditions.
On October 3, following foreign minister Nikos Dendias, Greek president Katerina Sakellaropoulou and minister of defence Nikos Panagiotopoulos arrived in Kyiv. The plans of the diplomatic group include a meeting with president Volodymyr Zelenskyy and defence minister Oleksii Reznikov. Perhaps the long-awaited guests in Ukraine will visit Bucha and other cities-monuments of the war. A tete-a-tete conversation between Zelenskyy and Sakellaropoulou is planned separately. Further, traditionally, there will be a press conference.
Today, a circular exchange of heavy weapons is underway between Greece and Germany: Germany will replace the Greek BMP-1s with the Marder. Last week, the Germany-Slovenia exchange ended, as a result of which Ukraine received 28 M-55S units.
