Prime Minister of Bulgaria Arrived in Ukraine

The purpose of the visit is to meet with president Volodymyr Zelensky and express support for Ukraine

On April 28, Bulgarian prime minister Kirill Petkov arrived in Ukraine by Ukrzaliznytsia train. Since planes no longer fly over Ukraine, the presidents of Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, and the prime minister of Great Britain, arrived in Ukraine on the same train. According to deputy prime minister of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, a delegation led by Petkov will visit the ruined Borodianka and, possibly, Irpin and Bucha.

"Greetings to the prime minister of Bulgaria Kirill Petkov in Kyiv! Your visit is an important manifestation of solidarity with our country and people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter. Bulgaria takes and broadcasts a pro-Ukrainian position and does everything possible to support our state. We remind you that the possibility of purchasing Ukrainian electricity within the framework of ENTSO-E is on the agenda of the Bulgarian ministries.

Petkov and Zelensky discussed business and military cooperation between the states. President Zelenskyн also thanked Petkov for Bulgaria's principled pro-Ukrainian position and support in the international arena. We remind you of the recent hare of Kirill Petkov: "Ukraine's place is in the EU. This is their security."

"Today, in a conversation with the зrime ьinister of Bulgaria, cooperation was initiated to repair Ukrainian military equipment at Bulgaria's production facilities. We are convinced that such cooperation will be beneficial for Bulgarian companies and the economy. And for us, quality and timing are very important, because we fight every day. We discussed substantive cooperation in the energy sector. Ukraine is ready to supply electricity to Bulgaria. We are also interested in diversifying gas supplies to the regions, in particular through the use of the Bulgarian Trans-Balkan pipeline together with the Bulgarian side. Agreements have been reached on the transportation of agricultural products from Ukraine through the ports of Bulgaria.

It will be recalled that due to the Russian war, Bulgaria dismissed its ambassador from Moscow and sent 10 Russian diplomats.
