Sakartvelo Erected a Monument to a Shot Ukrainian

The monument to Oleksandr Matsievsky, who was shot by Russians for saying “Glory to Ukraine,” is located in Tbilisi

A monument to the Ukrainian hero Oleksandr Matsievsky was erected in Sakartvelo. A Ukrainian sniper of the 163rd battalion was shot by Russian soldiers for the words Glory to Ukraine. These were the last that Oleksandr spoke in his life: immediately after that, he was shot with a machine gun at gunpoint. Glory to Ukraine is a traditional Ukrainian greeting. The Ukrainians respond to this greeting with the words Glory to the heroes and the Russian murderers — with machine gun fire.

The monument was opened on September 12 in Tbilisi. Beautiful Georgia supports Ukraine and our values, although it itself is in Russian grip.
