The German federal government and personally Robert Habeck are working to ensure that the Russian nuclear energy sector has come under sanctions in accordance with the following 11th package of economic restrictions from the European Union.
"The federal government spoke to the European Commission in favour of including the civilian nuclear sector. That should be part of the next sanctions package," Ministry of the economy of Germany.
Minister Habeck stressed that it is time to put an end to the former inviolability of the Russian nuclear sector. At the same time, Hungary stated that it would block the decision on sanctions if it was taken.
"Nuclear technology is an extremely sensitive area. There can no longer be 'business as usual'," Robert Habeck.
"It is important, however, that we start and do not shy away from decisive action in this area either," the MoE.
We remind you that the Ministry, under the leadership of Habeck, is also working to exclude all ways of cooperation with Russia despite the sanctions.
