Taiwan Donates $59 Mln to Ukraine

"Radio Taiwan International" reported that state aid for Ukraine in 2023 will be directed to humanitarian needs

The national broadcaster of Taiwan reported that the government had created a particular budget to support the needs of Ukraine. This decision was made on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of an independent state. The entire amount of $59 million will be transferred to rebuild schools, churches, hospitals, and critical infrastructure. Taiwan also notes that this humanitarian aid should be directed not only to the reconstruction of Ukraine but also to the assistance of the Ukrainian victims affected by the Russian aggression.

The Ministry of foreign affairs of Taiwan notes that such behaviour of the Russian Federation is unacceptable. Therefore, the island state will support Ukraine.

"Russia has seriously disrupted global peace and security, starting the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II," said the Taiwan Ministry of foreign affairs.

Previously, Taiwan had already provided more than $41 million in senior aid to Ukraine. This amount made it possible to provide Ukraine with 27 tons of medical supplies and 40 tons of other humanitarian goods for the people.
