On February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine across the border with Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions. The goal was to capture Kyiv, kill the legitimate government, and set up their own puppets. The plan failed and Ukraine began to expel the occupiers from its territory. The Russians did not go just like that: they left behind mined parks, fields, fields, and even residential areas. We remind you that according to the UN, Ukraine is one of the most mined countries in the world.
"During this time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 1.017 settlements from the invaders, 370 of them have already been demined, in others — the State Emergency Service of Ukraine is working," said deputy head of the president's office Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
In some regions, the process of restoring social infrastructure has begun: housing, schools, theaters, and more. Today we are talking about Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Zhytomyr regions. 44 million m² of living space were destroyed. 1.194 objects have been completely restored. Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhia regions are receiving assistance and will begin to recover after full deoccupation.
The Russians destroyed 23.800 km of road. Because of this, the road connection was lost. However, the Ukrainian forces have already restored communication with 700 settlements.
During the war, Russia destroyed 641 medical facilities. Hospitals reopened in 26% of the occupied territories (more than 600 settlements). Financial institutions have resumed operations in 300 cities.
