In the practice of the European Union, this is the first time diplomats meet outside the EU borders. Kyiv became a city that hosted ministers and chief diplomat Josep Borrell.
German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock explained the reason for the ministers' visit to Kyiv.
"The future of Ukraine is in the European Union, in our free community, and soon it will expand from Lisbon to Luhansk. With every village, with every meter that frees Ukraine, with every meter where it saves its people, it also expands its path into the EU," Annalena Baerbock.
It is known that Josep Borrell has already met with the head of the minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba. What exactly politicians discussed is unknown. However, Kuleba thanked the EU for making all decisions and noted that they each time benefit European countries. In addition, the opening session has already been held at which international politicians will consider the peace plan of Volodymyr Zelenskyy in detail.
