Life in the Occupied Luhansk Region

Russia destroyed one of the main industries in the region and sells apartments of Ukrainians to Russians and Russian national minorities

Luhansk is known as a powerful Ukrainian region rich in coal, metal, and minerals soil. Along with the Donetsk region, the Luhansk region is the industrial centre of Ukraine. Russian illegitimate authorities in the Luhansk region are destroying the extractive industry. However, the occupiers reduced the number of working coal mines in the Luhansk region, and miners were forcibly mobilised to strengthen the Russian army. More than 85% of coal mining enterprises have already closed down in the Donbas basin. In addition, the invaders stole buses, trucks and other mining equipment for military purposes.

The occupiers made a list of the surviving apartments in the Luhansk region. According to the list, all the apartments whose owners did not appear in the city within the specified period were transferred to the possession of the authorities. Initially, the apartments were given to collaborators and the Russian military. Now, some flats are sold under false documents. The same situation in the Donetsk region, especially Mariupol

At the same time, the occupiers continued bombardment of villages and towns that had not been occupied. In recent times, Russian occupiers have inflicted 56 blow-ups on the Ukrainian village of Nevske. There are demolitions of houses and victims.
