The Fight for Ukraine Continues: Liz Truss About Ukraine

Ukraine congratulated the new UK prime minister. The embassy is already preparing for the visit of the politician

On September 5, it was announced that Liz Trass would replace Boris Johnson. The new prime minister had already taken office in Downing Street.

The president of Ukraine has already congratulated the appointed prime minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Trass, on his victory in the elections. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the best qualities of a British politician that he had seen in her previous position. Also, the head of Ukraine expressed hope for further cooperation between the countries. And this moment last month intrigued many.

The whole world knew about Johnson's support for Ukraine in its war against Russia. Now we are trying to figure out what to expect Ukrainians from the leader of the Conservative party and former British foreign minister. Some media outlets noted that the new prime minister will continue to support Ukraine, as Truss has been opposing Russian aggression since the first days of the war.

"The war in Ukraine is our war," said Truss during a traditional banquet in London on Easter.

She later promised to help defeat Putin and help Ukraine even more after being elected the British prime minister.

"I will be the best friend of Ukraine and follow in Johnson's footsteps," said Truss on the eve of the election.

Another quote from the former British foreign secretary and the current prime minister stunned the media.

"I believe this is an important responsibility of the prime minister, and I am ready to do so," said Trus in response to a question from Times Radio about the possibility of using nuclear weapons. Obviously, only Russia threatens all countries with nuclear weapons.

So, the Ukrainian army and people can count on the further support of the Kingdom. The Ukrainian embassy is already preparing to meet the new British prime minister. According to the ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain, Vadym Prystaiko, Liz Trass intends to call Zelenskyy and come to Kyiv almost immediately after the official acceptance of the position.
