Ukraine and Norway are launching joint production of Ukrainian mid-strike drones, with plans to manufacture several thousand units in Norway and transfer all output to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to the announced parameters, these UAVs are designed for targets in the near rear area at ranges of roughly 50 to 200 km. They are positioned as a bridge class between short-range FPV systems and more expensive long-range strike tools.
Why this format matters
- Mid-strike platforms can carry larger payloads than typical FPV drones.
- The class is described as more resilient to electronic warfare pressure.
- Cost profile remains below missile systems of comparable range.
The model combines allied financing with Ukrainian battlefield-driven design, supporting faster scale-up of practical strike capacity.
