In mid-March 2023, Slovakia announced a decision to transfer 13 MiG-29 to Ukraine. The first 4 fighters were delivered to Ukraine in the shortest possible time and sent to protect the skies over the Kharkiv region.
On April 17, the minister of defence of Slovakia, Jaroslav Nad, reported that another 9 fighters were successfully delivered to Ukraine by land. Presumably, a railway was involved.
"All 13 Slovak MiG-29 have been safely handed over to the Ukrainian Air Force. Proud to be on the right side, doing the right thing to help protect lives. We stand with Ukraine," Jaroslav Nad.
We remind you that Germany officially allowed Poland to give MiG-29 to Ukraine.
