According to the prime minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, this year, the sowing campaign was successful. Despite all the barbaric challenges that Russia created with its attack on Ukraine, the farmers managed to sow 75% of the sown area. 75% of the area of the sowing campaign in 2021.
"The sowing campaign, despite the unprecedented challenges, was carried out successfully. According to the Ministry of agrarian policy and food, 75% of last year's area was sown," Denys Shmyhal.
This year, in difficult conditions, it was necessary not only to sow and harvest but also to export.
"We understand the main challenges facing farmers now. The first is the need to export crops. The Ministry of infrastructure is working on measures to increase throughput on the western border of Ukraine. After all, due to Russia's blocking of Ukrainian ports, we still have 23.5 million tons of grain and oilseeds," Shmyhal.
Due to the fact that, so far, Ukraine does not have the opportunity to export the crop immediately after the harvest, it became necessary to store it somewhere. We need storage facilities and, most importantly, protected storage facilities since Russia is purposefully destroying Ukrainian granaries.
"Saving the new crop. The Ministry of agrarian policy is considering the possibility of organizing mobile storage facilities, taking into account international experience. This will allow Ukraine to increase storage volumes by 10-15 million tons. Third, providing fuel for farmers," the prime minister.
We remind you that Russians take out crops from farmers in the temporarily occupied territories. On the cover of the article you see a tractor that was blown up by a Russian mine in a wheat field.
