According to the principle of the Ministry of defence, all equipment that was damaged during the performance of military tasks should, if possible, be restored directly on location. Heavy equipment is usually sent for repair at appropriate repair sites located throughout Ukraine. At the same time, heavy equipment that has suffered severe damage in combat must be sent to the supplying country for repair.
On March 16, the speaker of the Ukrainian military concern Ukroboronprom reported that the concern is in constant contact with the countries producing weapons that Western countries transfer to Ukraine. To help the army and speed up the recovery process, Ukroboronprom is ready to accept damaged equipment for repair.
"We are preparing for the fact that we will have to close this piece of work, despite the huge amount of equipment from the Ukrainian park that needs to be returned to service," the speaker Natalia Sad.
In September 2022, Ukroboronprom and NATO agreed to build an ammunition plant based on alliance technologies.
