The head of the president’s office, Andrii Yermak, said that 45 people, taken prisoner by the Russian military since 24 February, had returned to Ukraine. Among those released are soldiers and sergeants. All prisoners of war participated in battles with the Russian army. Among the liberated people are members of motorized infantry, assault, mechanized, mountain assault, artillery brigades, and special brigades.
Ukraine did not say how many Russian soldiers had surrendered to Moscow. Yermak only specified that the prisoner exchange fund did not suffer, and the Ukrainians who defended their country, returned home.
Note that in October the Ukrainian authorities were able to return home 160 people — military and civilian. However, a large number of Ukrainian soldiers who defended Mariupol for almost 90 days remain in captivity of Russia.
