On May 12, the State migration service of Ukraine began developing a project aimed at maintaining contact with Ukrainians who were forced to stay outside of Ukraine. In accordance with the idea of the project, within 14 months from the date of adoption of the resolution, Ukrainians in other countries can apply to the embassy or consulate of Ukraine and get a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for Ukrainians to travel abroad.
The cabinet of ministers of Ukraine has already supported the resolution. The Ministry of internal affairs of Ukraine has begun work on providing the mechanics of the project. A passport of a citizen of Ukraine (Ukrainian and foreign) will be issued for a period of 3 months.
Also, the government of Ukraine has simplified the procedure for obtaining and replacing a passport of a minor Ukrainian.
