Childbirth in War

Ukraine launched an educational platform about childbirth in the conditions of a blackout/lack of a maternity hospital and access to medical services

War in Ukraine. And it is displayed in absolutely all spheres of Ukrainian life. Including childbearing. Many Ukrainian women live in settlements where hospitals and maternity hospitals have been destroyed. And even those maternity hospitals that are still working are regularly shelled by the Russian army. For women and their loved ones who find themselves in a cruel and dangerous situation without the help of obstetricians and even a sterile room for childbirth, the educational project Safe Birth was launched. Here, every mother-to-be and present mother can find expert information and videos about childbirth/postpartum and a plan of action in case of the absence of a maternity hospital.

"During the war that Russia has been waging against Ukraine for 8 years, women sometimes have to give birth in absolutely extreme conditions. Sometimes it is dangerous to get to a medical facility, and a woman gives birth in a shelter, in a basement or at home," project founder Victoria Luchka.

The Ministry of health is also launching an information campaign for pregnant women about points of medical care during the war.
