Historical moment: Ukraine will receive German combat Leopards. For many months, Ukraine, world politicians and citizens of other states demanded that Germany transfer tanks to Ukraine, and finally this decision was made.
On January 25, the Bundeswehr website published an official statement about the upcoming transfer of Leopard 2 A6 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Germany plans to accumulate 2 tank battalions. In the first stage, Ukraine will receive 14 tanks from Germany's MoD balance.
"This decision follows our well-known line of support for Ukraine to the best of our ability. We act in close coordination at the international level," Olaf Scholz.
The Bundeswehr aid package also includes tank logistics, shells, maintenance and training of Ukrainian tankers. States that have declared their readiness to transfer Leopards to Ukraine will receive official permission from Germany.
