In November 2022, at the initiative of UNESCO director-general Audrey Azoulay, work began on opening the office of the world organisation in Ukraine. Today, April 3, Audrey Azoulet personally arrived in Kyiv and met with the representative of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine, Emine Dzhepparova.
"The visit of the UNESCO director-general to Ukraine is a huge sign of support for our efforts to protect and restore spheres of culture, education, science, youth, sport & media in Ukraine. These issues are on today's agenda," Emine Dzhepparova.
We remind you that the historical centre of Odesa is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and borscht is recognised as Ukrainian cultural heritage.
Also in Kyiv today are the secretary-general of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejcihynovic-Buric and the vice-chancellor/federal minister of economy and climate protection of Germany Robert Habeck.
