The president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, launched the Generators of Hope charity campaign. Many European cities have already joined the campaign, and to fully cover the needs of the damaged critical infrastructure of Ukraine, Roberta Metsola calls on other European cities and towns to join the action and provide generators for Ukraine.
"10 million Ukrainians are without electricity as a result of Russia's attacks on power stations and civilian infrastructure. We've shown remarkable solidarity with Ukraine on the humanitarian, military and financial front. Now they need practical support to get through the winter. We are teaming up with European cities to donate power generators to Ukraine. To bring energy and clean water to hospitals and people. To guarantee everyday services that we take for granted. Because yes, we can make a difference," Roberta Metsola.
To help Ukraine with heat and generators, Estonia launched the Light and Heat for Ukraine charity program. Japan allocated $2.5 million to purchase generators, and the UK allocated £10 million to ensure Ukraine's energy security.
